ENROLLMENTNutrition

A well-balanced diet is vital to a child’s health, and what they eat influences their mood, behaviour, level of concentration, and most importantly their physical and mental development.
We believe it is very important for children to have something nourishing to eat at snack time, as well as at lunch, so we request you to pack a healthy balanced snack and lunch and an additional mid-afternoon snack/tea if they continue in the Late pick-up programme. It is also important for children to enjoy and eat their meals together with friends in their
classrooms.

Health, Safety & Hygiene

Health

During the nursery hours, a qualified nurse is always present on the premises. As part of the admission process to Primrose Nursery, we request written permission or emergency medical advice if your child has any health issues or allergies. Prescribed medications are securely stored in their original containers, labeled clearly, and kept out of children’s reach. The administration of
medication is recorded and parents are notified accordingly. If a child has an infection, parents or guardians must inform the nursery and keep the child at home. We recommend waiting 48 hours after an episode of sickness or diarrhea before sending the child back to the nursery. We keep emergency contact details, allergies, dietary requirements, and illness records. Although most of our outdoor area is shaded, there may be some exposure to sunlight, and we encourage parents
to send a sun hat with their child’s name marked on the inside.

Safety

Primrose nursery provides constant supervision to ensure the safety of all children. We conduct fire drills at least once every term and maintain a record of all individuals present, in case of an
emergency. Fire doors are unobstructed, well-marked, and can be opened effortlessly from the
inside. We have an external company that regularly checks all fire-fighting appliances. Emergency evacuation procedures are prominently displayed throughout the nursery for everyone’s
awareness. Additionally, all our equipment and resources undergo regular safety, functionality, hygiene, and non-toxicity checks.

Hygiene

Our cleaning routine involves the use of safe, non-hazardous cleaning products daily. The cleaning supplies are securely stored upstairs, away from the children’s reach. We promote healthy habits and hygiene practices among the children by teaching them songs and lessons on handwashing throughout the day. Furthermore, every classroom is equipped with an attached bathroom for diaper-changing purposes.
